where should I buy my cage?

Okay I live in illinois and I'm trying to get all the right info on where what and when about adding a Chameleon to our family. We (my husband and I)have two small children and a dog. I read to not handle them at all, put their cage in a low traffic area and other things but I can't not seem to find any good opinions on where to get a good cage, a good place to buy the new member, should I choose a baby or adult, Has anyone bought their chameleons online? Well these are some of my questions I'm looking for honest answers so if I should just stop researching and not go any further with this let me know that too. Also my children are very well behaived and no the chameleon isnt to be a birthday present or a experiement for them. You can trust assure that we would be providing the best home possible for the chameleon. Thanks for all the feedback to hopefully come my way!

i found craigslist to be a very cheap way to find CAGES


make sure its all screen, well at least the front and top.

Pangea has the best prices for Reptibreeze cages I have seen so far, their website is

that should take you right to the cages. I think craigslist is a great idea as well, you can find some great cages for great prices

The size of your chameleon will determine what size cage you will need to start with. The species of your cham and sex of your cham will determine what the largest size cage you will need as well.
So I guess you'll need to figure out what species of cham you want to get. Online their are some good places also here on the classifieds. Our site sponsors are good internet source.
LLL Reptile, another site sponsor, has all screen cages at a very good price. I have purchased all of my cages from there as well as a lot of other supplies.

There's a chameleon for sale and supply section on the site where you can buy from members also the sponsor sites are awesome, I actually did a chart last night on the sites and LLL reptile has the best all around prices but like another member stated pangea has prices too. And most of the sponsors sells chams along with members. This site is such a big help
