Thank you for filling out the form and accepting the criticism gracefully.
i’m not going to argue with people who know more than me and want to help me help my cham, i know people on forums can get mean sometimes :wideyed: i used to be a very active and knowledgeable member of a fishkeepimg forum. anyways i appreciate all of your help and will keep you all updated but please continue to chime in with info!

Make the branches more horizontal and make sure you get both types of calcium (with and without D3, both phosphorus free- the one with D3 every two weeks, one without daily) For chams, there shouldn’t be a staple feeder, but if you do more roaches and/or silkworms than superworms or crickets (no mealworms!), you’ll be good. Welcome to the forums!

If the uvb bulb is a long and skinny cylinder, it’s linear (it might also say it on the bulb), if it’s coiled and a similar shape and size to the basking bulb, then it’s compact and I would highly recommend getting a fluorescent

I mean linear

so to be honest i don’t know which bulb is uvb and which is heat but here’s pictures and maybe you guys can identify them and if they need to be switched out for something better

Okay, first off, neither of those bulbs should be used, you should have a white light basking spot (halogen from hardware store or regular reptile basking bulb) and that is a compact uvb, I would recommend getting a linear uvb light fixture

Sorry if that sounded mean or anything, I just realized I worded it horribly and had that tone

Give me a sec and I’ll link pictures so you know what to look for, any of the reptile product sellers that are site sponsors will have both basking bulbs and linear bulbs and fixtures

First one, what both linear and basking fixtures and bulbs look like, second pic is linear uvb, three and four are heat basking bulbs

where’s the best place to get these bulbs and fixtures? and is there any particular wattage i should be getting?
The wattage depends, you just have guess and then go off the temperature at the basking area after that, for basking you can get halogen heat bulbs from Lowes/Home Depot/online or use reptile basking bulbs from the pet store/online, for uvb both fixture and bulb are from the pet store/online

alright thank you so much, i hope you guys can bear with me as i’m only 18 and currently looking for a second job, so changes will happen but not super fast as i’m just not able to spend hundreds of dollars in a week or two to get everything in perfect order, i’ve already spent about $100 so far in these three days but friday is payday so i’ll be spending again then, and to think, i was supposed to be saving for a car, but now i have a chameleon who needs help

Who cares about the car! You have a living, cash-sucking, machine! Lol, don't worry, the initial purchases are the highest ones besides vet care if you need it, everything else is pretty much feeders and supplements. :)
