where to get egg cartons?

where can i get some without buying and wasting a lot of eggs?

do they need to be cleaned often or replaced?

does it have to be egg cartons or could i just ball up a bunch of newspaper? what are some equal alternatives, and why are egg crates always a top choice?

If you know anyone who works in a restaurant/hotel they'll be able to hook you up. Or, if you're friendly with the local restaurant owners they should give you some for free, since they just throw them out. Just make sure there's no egg whites on them, which usually happens when cooks are careless.

Thats a pretty good site if u have no other choice 2 get them by quantity. . also what happens if there is egg whites in them does it harm them. ?

Howdy,

I get all of my egg crates from restaurants and neighbors . The first time I asked our local breakfast hang-out for commercial egg flats, he gave me 40-50 of them all at once. I thought I was set for life but I did eventually whittle that stack down to 5-6 after using them up on roaches as well as giving many away to fellow keepers. I have one neighbor who leaves me all of her empty egg crates on my doorstep .

I use the drink trays from restaurants. Being Canadian Gotta have my Timmies anyways so I get tons of them.

I was wondering about this to. BUYING egg cartons just seems a lil strange to me. I would like to hear some alternatives. Ive been using the carboard roll from paper towels. (I cut it in half and stack them ontop of each other)

I have egg cartons but there a bit different to the ones you guys have got so I don't think they are much use?
