Where's my Clarence???

Sometime yesterday my gray tree frog Clarence disappeared from his viv. I really have zero clue how he escaped. It's a zoomed viv with glass sides and a screen top. Everything was latched. We've taken apart the whole viv hoping he was hiding. We have shallow dishes of water out and an open container of crickets. I've been looking for him all evening. I'm just heartbroken over this. He escaped near death once already. I really really hope he's okay and turns up soon :(

We've been looking for this little turd for two days. I'm really not sure how he got out. We fed him Tuesday night, then closed up his viv. I even watched him for a few more minutes before going to bed on Tuesday. Wednesday morning - couldn't find him, no biggie. Wednesday night - still no Clarence. We thought maybe he was hiding, but he never sang to us that night. Thursday morning, no Clarence, and we were both very worried. The hubby looked all day for him. I came home around 6 and looked in, over, under, on top of everything again. (The hubby read online that tree frogs will hide in shoes, so he put shoes all over the house, lol.)

Just in case, I'm sifting through the leaves of all my plants, hoping i just missed him, when i saw four tiny little sucker toes sticking out of the drain hole of Captain Percival!
(Edit: Captain Percival is the name of my ponytail palm tree. Very long story.)

Clarence popped his head out for a second, then I had to pry the drain pan off the plant to get him out. The little bugger had just been in on of the water dishes we had set out too -- cold and wet! I made a giant mess, but he's home safe and sound. He's been soaking in the water dish for the last 15 minutes, poor little guy.

I've taped up the door on the viv, although there's no way he got out through that tiny crack. I'm really clueless how he escaped. Sneaky ninja frog.

Happy ending! But it could have easily been the opposite.

Naughty Clarence to worry you guys like that.

I'm really glad that you found him and he's back in his home safe and sound.

He's a tiny little guy isn't he?

Reptiles and amphibians will escape a cage, like a man running from a relationship! :D We all just look for a crack in the door.
