Ive read through all the reviews between mistking and aquazamp... which kit would i get on either one and why?

I dont plan on breeding or having tons of chams. We will have 1 for a long time and go from there so it wouldnt be a multi cage system.

AZ - Premium Keeper Misting Nozzle System $125.00
AZ - Premium Collector Misting Nozzle System $180.00

or
MK - Starter Misting System US$99.99
MK - Ultimate Value Misting System US$189.99

and any addl nozzles etc, please let me know.

TIA

If you dont plan on having more than one cham, then you dont need the ultimate.

I use the ultimate mistking to mist 6 cages.

Thats good to know. If I were to get a second tank, it would be in a different room anyways. I want this to be a fun hobby not something overwhelming and jumping in to deep, if you KWIM. Thanks

I just got a reply from Kevin, he has a suggestion of
Premium LowProfile RainDome System Price: $150.00

Thank you for the input. Appreciate it. While I know that everyone has a different opinion and set up, really helps to hear what works for you guys and what doesnt.

I have mistking starter kit with two nozzles. I only have one Cham but it will take more nozzles.

i think the starter can do like 10 nozzles.

The ultimate can do 20 or more.

I currently run 6 nozzles, with the plans to add double that in a few weeks.

Just a side topic... when you have more nozzles, do you run them for shorter periods since you have more nozzles or the same time as if you did 1?

Keep in mind that you want to provide enough misting TIME. It sometimes takes several minutes or longer to prompt a drinking response in chameleons, so more water in a shorter period of time is not really what you're going for. You want to provide a good "shower" but also enough time to get them drinking. I would say better to have one nozzle run for several minutes at a time than 2 that only run for 60 seconds. How many nozzles you have in each enclosure is very dependent on the size of enclosure you have. I think for most "typical" enclosures, 1 nozzle works fine, and 2 would likely be more than enough.

Good to know. Does that mean that the rain dome is better because it does misting and drops?

i got a basic mistking simply for price. it comes with everything, timer etc compared to the AZ which is considerably more when you add the timer to it
MK 100.00 AZ 130.00ish

My aquazamp came yesterday - I love it so far - I got the low profile raindome for my panther and a misting head for my Jackson (because he's a baby) Kevin recommend the raindome for my Jackson but I was afraid he would be too little for it - I should have listened to him turns out he loves it - I have a hard time seeing him drink but he turned around from his hunt this morning and was drinking well. Poor Chumley, (the panther) now he's going to have to share (the cages are close enough so i can move it over - Chumley is a much better drinker and he will not have to wait long -

I highly recommend the AZ low profile Raindome. Like you I only have one chameleon and don't plan on more in the near future. However, it's great to know that if we did want to expand a little we could (with the Premium Keeper system). The thing I love so much about the Raindome is that water droplets collect on the screen underneath the dome and remain there for some time. This provides a water source for my chameleon even when the rain is not running. Every morning we see him drink the droplets from the top of the screen and we've never had a problem with dehydration. We're really happy to see him so happy. He also likes hanging out under the dome during a rain session (usually) and even sleeps below it.

Good luck in your decision!

I spoke with Kevin and made the purchase for the low profile. Excited and can't wait to get it.

Thanks for all the input.

I hope you love yours as much as I do mine. It's a great system, and Kevin provides excellent customer support. :)

I got a mistking starter setup and it has never failed me. i love the programability of it and how easy it is to set up. you should add the zip drip valve to it when your ordering, it really makes your water last.

mistking is definitely the way to go :)
