Which type of viv is best?

My male is currently in a 100gallon flexarium but he keeps pawing at the top of the viv like he wants 2 get out!!
The top of his viv is about 6ft from the floor

Free range simply means setting up an area for them occupy that doesn't have cage walls so the animal would be "loose" in that area.

One trick that's worked for restless chameleons is to furnish the cage differently. I find that adding short plants along the bottom of the cage or even tall plants that cover the sides usually keeps them from thinking they're in a cage and just in a dense "forest".

Which type of viv would you say is the best for keeping a 9 month old veiled male in the UK?

Depends on many factors. Key amongst them:
What is the ambient room temp of the room in which you keep him? Day, and night. Winter and Summer.
What is the relative humidity? Day, and night. Winter and Summer.

The choice of enclosure should be made with a mind to what will best allow you to provide the optimum temperature and humidity, etc.

Regardles of construction material, Bigger is usually better once they get adult size.
