this morning i woke up and noticed archy, my veiled, developed two dots of white residue on either side of his face/nose, just above his mouth.

i've never seen this on him before, whats the deal?

also sometimes i'll catch archy chillin' with his mouth open...what does that mean?

Most likely the white residue is expelled minerals from his nostrils. How old is he and how much are you supplementing? What are you supplementing with and how often?
What are your temps? Chameleons pant to cool down, it may be too hot in his basking spot.
What species is Archy?

i just got back from class and noticed that the white residue is gone

archy is a 7 month old veiled chameleon. i rarely use protein powder on feeders... but I gut load his crickets with calcium supplement, potatoes, and water. i fed him a pinky mouse for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

currently he is next to a window and since it is kind of chilly i have a space heater close by...i check on him all the time to make sure the heater isn't over heating him
