Food for thought: they are originally from rain forests.

That's a broad generalization.

Plus, I would hope there isn't as much pollution in the rain in rainforests as there could be in the city (not that tap water is any better).

In Hawaii, I kept my chameleons outside. Since I lived mauka, we got a lot of rain in the late afternoon and my chams LOVED it - Karma, our big male jackson's, would ONLY drink rain drops, never the stuff from the mister.

My guys love the rain. There is plenty of foliage to hide in and they get well watered. I love close to several of the other members and the weather stays quite nice here in Florida most all year. I periodically bring them in to clean their outside cage and make sure they get adequate calcium dusted food. but they wait by their door wanting to go out again.
