Ardi was still young, but look at those teeth. Melleri have nasty teeth. Good thing they like us. They hate cameras, which makes these pictures possible.

This guy was the toughest chameleon i've ever seen. Survived massive burns to his body, recovered with limited use of his rear legs. He learned to use him front arms and tail to climb while his legs healed. He was later burned again while I was away in training (switched to halogen bulbs - what the **** was I thinking... burned ardi too).
Every single time he mated with my large female - every single time - she bit a half inch of his tail. In the end, he was 1.5 inches shorter.
Throughout his entire life, since maturity, he's never ever refused food - except when I had him on baytril, which I immediatly stopped
...until he started to die this summer, at about 8 years old.
he was a tough old sucker. His last clutch is hatching any day now. I stil can't believe he managed to mate - let alone produce fertile eggs - at his age and state of weakness. But he did. Tough, DIRTY old man...
