why are they dead I kept them at room temp is a well ventilated container with plenty of room and no substrate.

They were in the garage so it was bit cooler but still nothing below 60.

And before you jump on me for this I KNOW THAT THEY ARE NOT IN PUPAE STAGE!!!

Any ideas?

I think it because they need to be in a moist environment. when I buy them the package says to add a couple drops in the saw dust when it dries out .

I use damp coconut coir, they are voracious eaters, although I no longer get them, the last time I ordered them they showed up dead, the supplier told me to shove my head up my ass, when I contacted them.... they can starve and dry out to death, also stagnant heat kills them...in transit hot will kill them fast

ok and they are not in the black pupae stage?

I do not feed mine and I barely keep them moist. I have never had an issue of die offs. Keep them anywhere from 65-75 degrees.

Definitely sounds like humidity can play a role

I rarely do. When the media dries out a lot, I sometimes put a few drops of water and mix it up a bit

I think the cool temps keep them better, but they didn’t seem to like regular refrigerator temps
