Wild Caught chameleon died

Hey everyone I recently bought a wild caught carpet chameleon at a repticon this past saturday. The guy told me she is bread at a farm in Madagascar but I definitely think that she was wild caught and he was just yanking my chain. Even though I should have never bought from a farm in Madagascar, I learned my lesson nonetheless. I got home today and found her dead at the bottom of the cage. If she died from a disease, could that potentially affect other chameleons I have in the same room that she was in? What should I do with her cage?

I'm so sorry,this is very sad! :(
I would put the whole cage in the tub and spray it with blached water leave it for 5-10 min.and then rinse it.
Do you want to take her to autopsy?
I don't know how could it affect the others...Sorry!:(

Definitely, read the quarantine thread on here. You may be fine but it's very risky as I've heard.

If it were me I would toss the plants and branch's and give the cage a good spay down with a disinfectant. Rinse the cage well and leave it outside for a few days.

Lateralis are not farm bred in Madagascar. There is no need since they are so plentiful and easily collected.

The chance that she was truly "farm bred" in Madagascar is remote. I think this is really the PC way to say someone caught her in the wild and moved her to some sort of semi captive exporter facility (the farm) for a while. She might survive long enough to breed and there is a chance some babies hatched at the place, but probably not by design. If someone tells me that and can't provide proof of the farm when I ask for it I don't believe a word.

Ok thank you everyone for your feedback. I moved her cage outside and will sterilize tomorrow, should i just use bleach? Also how long should I wait to move my other chameleons back into the room that the carpet died in?

I'm sorry you lost your Cham. I had a WC I bought at repticon that died too. Though he last a few weeks, verses days. No matter the time frames though, still an unfortunate thing no one wants to see. I threw out the pathos Hoggle died it. Just didn't feel right keeping it in the enclosure. His final resting place if you will. Just felt weird having the new Cham around it.
