Will a 10.0 be harder on plants then a a 5.0?

The reason I'am asking is I've noticed my pothos has really gone down his since switching the bulb. While I'm on the subject would a 10. bulb be better to prevent mbd? I'm getting my first female panther soon and I want to make sure she will have strong bones!

Are you talking Reptisun? And will it be on top of a screened top? If so, I'd go with 10.0 for sure, and make sure you have enough plant cover for the cham to get away from it when it wants to.

While this chart has no numbers, i will translate. You want mid tank to be a the max usable distance. So a 10.0 t8 (remember they now have 10.0 t5 ho's) is recommended for 3ft maybe 3.5ft cages. Now if switch to HO's, the 5.0 is good for the reptibreeze XLs, and the 10.0 is not recommended for chams since there would be no dead zone.

It depends if you have a screen top and live plants if so u want the 12

Thanks for the response. In the same way, if I have a screen top you'll also recommend the reptisun 10.0? Just need clarity. Thanks!

The Arcadia 12% is more powerful than the Reptisun, so yes.

Also, the Arcadia lasts longer than the Reptisun.

If you can afford the quad fixture from Lightyourreptiles, I strongly recommend it! Your plants will thrive in the process.

This is what i use todd says the uvb can last easily a year

Idk there's such a thing as over use of artificial uvb. Especially with panthers. I have noticed they tend to be more sensitive to uvb as a species than any other I have seen. Honestly artificial uvb is not used naturally in many ways by us, not just because it isn't real sun, but also because of the way we use it. If you want your plants to thrive just get a grow light, keep the 5.0 and make sure you take your girl out as often for real sun as you can. It will solve pretty much all issues with uvb induced bone problems that chameleons can get. Natural uvb is so much better in so many ways.
