Will my Panther get any other Colors?

Pissing him off with that black skull sure isn't gonna bring out any blues. Looks like a normal pissed off chameleon in your video.

Carl

I think if instead of making him mad take him out to be free range on a tree and leave him a lone for a bit you'd see a better range of colors. Today was the first time I saw the blue on my panther because he was out and about loving being 6ft up!

I treat my chameleons with nothing but love and respect and they show some really nice colors. I didn't watch your video because I don't care to see a chameleon treated any other way.

he's a lovely looking panther. too bad you treat him so terribly

I agree. Taunting him isn't going to make him develop any other colors than he would normally. I work hard at taming my panther...deliberately pissing him off doesn't do HIM any good whatsoever. I hope you take our comments into consideration as they are remarkable creatures that deserve the same respect that you would expect.

I agree with everyone here.

Maybe what this panther needs is some TLC before he shows any other colors... His happy colors.

If that's all the owner cares about is "colors" maybe a cham is not the pet for him/her.

Shoving a threatening thing in it's face is not going to make him like you or show bright colors. He will just be pissed at you.

I could understand one second to get him to show some colors, but 3 minutes is a little long. He looks very pretty, I would let him show you his colors on his own time. Not forced with stress.

Best of luck!

Do you realize that stress can cause a chameleon to die? I'm not trying to be an *** but I think you need a care sheet from someone.

I agree with everyone else, I coudn't even watch the full video. Beside that I think his bright orange is beautiful.

I couldn't even watch past 30 seconds. WHY would you deliberately torture any animal?! That is in the minds of sick people... I hope that you stop doing that immediately before he suffers from that stress!

Sickening!!!!!

As he got a name, or is he just a "thing"? Strange, because it looks like he's got a nice setup otherwise. Anyone trying a prank like that on any of my animals would have that black skull anally inserted.

Well thats weird and gross. Also, I am sure this guy gets the point now.

Maybe we can actually answer his question.

Depending on how old he is, he may develop more color. Locale has a large part to play in how long it takes to fully develop color variation and so forth. For example, sambavas take quite a bit longer to color up completely compared to say, ambilobes. Falys tend to be the same way in my experience.

Also, just in case, what you are doing in the video can be very stressful to the animal. This guy will show his colors when he is relaxed, and not being messed with. Take it easy with him and he will show you what hes got.

Thanks for the reply I deleted the link and I never intended to torture or tease him, it was a few days before Halloween and I never seen him act like that so my kids filmed it and put it on youtube but the reactions here say it was all bad. Anyways he and my Veiled get treated great and have wonderful separate setups and again im sorry to all who took offense to the video and Tie Dye is Doing great :D

I agree. It is time to put this to rest. The OP apologized and removed the link from here and hopefully YouTube. I am sure we have all done things that when we look back upon them wonder what we were thinking. I know I am not a perfect parent nor a perfect pet owner but I try to do my best and learn from my mistakes. I would hate this person to leave the forum and lose the opportunity to learn a great deal about his pet. I have been a member of other forums and one thing that impressed me about here is the willingness to share knowledge and information without personal attacks or judgements. I think the OP has come to realize the error and move on as should we all.

Tie Dye is one good looking guy! I've read on here that they'll continue to change their colors with each shed. My panther is still a lil guy, so I don't have much experience with that. I love how he's cruising across the blinds! :)

Your boy is a great looking cham and will get better with age. I agree with everyone who said to take him outside- my boy shows his best colors in the sun!

I came in late and did not see the original video, but your chameleon is a good looking fellow.

I am, however, sad at some of the responses given to you as they were quite childish and rude. There are better ways.
