Hey everyone might have a big problem I take pics of my Cham everyday to see if he looks any different and I was alarm to find this on his tail bruise?dreaded mold?first hornworm poop spot?(I heard horned worms can leave spots on them)please help this literally happened over night the pics form him last night had no sign of this.

Before you panic take a damp cotton ball and try to wipe it off.

Just tried to wipe it off with a cotton ball no luck it’s like ink or something maybe a bruise but I wiped(sure he hated it)with moist cotton ball no luck the cotton ball is clean

It does not look fuzzy at all just black like ink or a bruise

Sorry, that has worked sometimes. I'm leaning toward it being a bruise only because it came up so fast.

I hope it is a bruise and not mold if it is it’s the faster progressing mold I have ever seen.should I take him to the vet?Or give it a few more days?How long does a bruise take to heal up?

The fungal disease you are probably thinking about is CANV or yellow fungus and it does have a yellow to yellowish coloring. There are some threads on here if you want to look for comparison. Bruising resolves in healthy reptiles pretty much like it does in people.

I would take him to the vet, just to be sure. It looks like probably a bruise, but that's a very bad and strange place. A d if that's dead tissue, you need to take care of it.

I have no idea what was on him my guess is he pooped to close to the branch took a look at him this morning and no black spot and was also going away last night still going to the vet for his first time check up next week
