One, most chameleons won't eat anything dead, even if you wiggle it.
Two, pinkies (baby mice) and other vertebrates provide a very high amount of protein for a feeder. Generally, feeding pinkies is not recommended - too much protein in a chameleon's diet can cause health problems like damage to internal organs and gout. In nature, a chameleon may eat the occasional vertebrate, but they are primarily insectivores. There are lots of discussions on this here in the Forum.
Stick to a variety of insects and include some greens and small bits of fruit and veggies. Your Veiled will be much healthier for it.
