Won't Open Eyes

I have a 11 month old panther chameleon who has had his eyes closed during the day. I know this is not a good sign so I am starting to get very worried. I noticed it starting about a week ago and have made an appointment with the vet for this tuesday if he does not improve. Yesterday I removed the live ficus tree and replaced it with a fake one to make sure the sap was not the issue. Do anyone know what it could be? Any advice would be very appreciated.
Here is some general information:

Cage 4 ft x 2ft x 2ft
Lighting: Zilla Tropical 25 and heatbulb 50 watt (switched yesterday from a 75)
Humidity: Roughly 20% (misting 2 to 3 times a day)sometimes spray humidifying spray by zilla
Diet: Superworms, Hornedworms, Crickets
Vitamins: Reptivite with D3 (powder), Fulkers liquid calcium
Cage Temps: 85-87 non-basking and 91-108 basking

Thanks

Here is a little more info. Thanks

Chameleon - Blue bar panther, male, 11 months olds
Handling - Handle 3-4x a week
Feeding - Currently feeding 6 superworms a day, some giant horned worms, sometime crickets with store bought gutload
Supplements - Dusting worms with reptivite w/d3 and using fulker liquid calicum
Watering - Misting 3 times a day for about a minute. Drinks out of a small bowl when I hold it for him. recently bought a mistking system but have not had the time to set it up
Fecal Description - Feces has been normal until today. The urate looked a bit orange and the fecal matter was greenish

Cage Info:
Cage Type - ZooMed
Lighting - Zilla 25 tropical UV and a 50 watt basking bulb both go on at 7:20 am and off at 8pm. The basking has been off as it has been hot. I do not use the air conditioner during the day,as it removes the humidity
Temperature - basking 85-95, room 77 to 90 (depending on day) at night 70-77 without air conditioner, 67-74 with air conditioner
Humidity - Id guess about 20% but I am working to get it up
Plants - switched yesterday from a live ficus to a fake ficus, vines, branches
Placement -Cage is in a corner of a second floor room which receives sunlight in the afternoon
Location - New York

You're supposed to use without d3 everyday, with d3 twice a month and twice a month multivitamins. You went from 108 to 85 basking temp, which is it?

The temp in the room greatly fluctuates due to the summer. Yesterday I can in to check the temp saw it was in the hundred and turned it off. Currently it is 86 in the room no basking spot

I bought a new light so I don't think that was the problem. He has not shed for over 2 months and I just noticed this morning that the skin around the eye is beginning to come off (but not throughout his body). Is it normal to shed very slowly?

As they get older they don't shed every month, it'll be around 2-3 months. They can shed in parts sometimes. Try misting with warm water more.

I would put a shower curtain or garbage bag draping down 3 sides of the cage to help get your humidity higher and some real plants, maybe more mistings. A humidifier for the room would help.

Agreed, this will help A LOT keep humidity up, plus use real plants :) Keep us updated. Try keeping him in a shower, let it bounce off the walls onto a fake plant on the shower floor
