Has anyone tried wooly bears as a feeder? Now that it's the end of summer they are all over the place and would make for some easy wild caught treats. My only concern is that it's a really fuzzy caterpillar and I don't know how well they would go down.
I wish that was the kind of wooly bears I had all over here. I literally can't go 10 feet without finding one. I can only imagine finding him all over. MmmmmmOh my, wooly bears. No clue what this is so I'm gonna google that shit and get back with you! Like worms with mustaches?? Or this delightful creature? (Hehe) jk, jk, thanks for sharing this is very good info View attachment 165700
Just kidding......
I actually remember these worms as a kid. I agree with brownie64, if all else fails worms make great fish bait. Are they like silk worms? Have you tried the with your Cham yet? I'm curious....That's what I figured but it's no joke when I say they're everywhere and I was hoping to take advantage of that. Oh well, I guess some bugs get lucky
I tried silk worms. They were not fans. I don't think they liked how sticky they were.I actually remember these worms as a kid. I agree with brownie64, if all else fails worms make great fish bait. Are they like silk worms? Have you tried the with your Cham yet? I'm curious....
Haha! If I had them all over I'd be looking into how to use them as a feeder as well. My Cham loves worms. I'd Google and cross check here. I'm very curious to see what other member say. Not sure it's the same thing, but I've noticed that bigger hornworms have a death grip on any vine. They do better hand fed. Is that what you mean by sticky?I tried silk worms. They were not fans. I don't think they liked how sticky they were.
I don't think they like the silk they always seem to have. And when I have hornworms they don't last long enough to death grip the vines. They gobble them up as fast as I put them in.Not sure it's the same thing, but I've noticed that bigger hornworms have a death grip on any vine. They do better hand fed.
