Woot! Breakthrough!

The moment I've been waiting for two months for finally happened! My little panther has been letting me handle and hand feed him for the last couple of days, but only when he is already outside his cage. I usually open it up for him when he's clawing on the door, and he comes out on his own. If I ever stuck my hand in the cage anywhere near him, he would puff and gape like mad.
Well, yesterday was really warm and I wanted to take him outside. I opened up the cage door for him to come out and noticed a cricket was near. I put it on my fingertips and put it in front of him, and sure enough, as soon as his little eye locked on, the cricket was gone! Shortly after a few crunches, I slowly moved my hand beside the door, with him tracking it the whole time. Hesitantly, he climbed down to the door and walked right onto my hand! I was super excited!
Sorry for the super long post but I just had to tell somebody, as none of my family members were impressed at all (I'm sure some of them still think he's a type of hairless rat).
