Wrinkled skin

If superworms are ever crawling on your chameleon there is something seriously wrong with your cage. I've been feeding superworms for years and never have seen that happen even once. They are not explorer type insects. They hide. That's why it's a good idea to either hand feed them or stick them on the screen close by.
Also ripping off there face is not nessicary. At all. Chameleons are natural born bug killing specialist.
I also never gauge there food from how big the space is between there eyes. I base it on how big the chameleon is overall. I've never ever had one single baby die from food being to big. I actually start off my hatchlings on 1/4 crickets. Every once in a while I'll buy 1/8 inch if there is a baby that's smaller than the rest but that's it.
There is a ton of bad information out there to be read. Trust me everysingle care sheet is not accurate.
I never ever give advice off something that I read or someone told me. Every bit of advise I give are from my own experiences
The reason why it's sized like that is because meal worms as well as super worms have hard exo skeletons and also bite if it's much bigger than the baby and the Cham has a hard time digesting it it can eat thro the lining smashing the head makes it where if that does happen it can't bite but has a chance of getting lodged in its throat if the heads not crushed and that does happen it can eat thro the side this has happened to people that are reptile keepers including my sister that's the only reason I know that because of the X-rays st the vet and the advice she was given there was nothing that could be done that's where the inbetween the eyes come in if I put something in my terrerium longer than the width of the eyes my Cham won't touch it if also heard from the veil to the nose

No way I'd let super worms go in my chams enclosure. I put them on a leaf or in her cup, or hold it in tongs for her. Crickets I like to put on the side of her enclosure so she can hunt them. Hornworms barely make it too far on a vine before she gets them. Do they really sting? I don't think so. My brother and I used to play with hornworms all the time as kids and never once had them "sting". They do kinda nibble at your hand, but that's nothing....
It might be the bitting then not sting its one or the other

But I haven't been able to find small enough horn worms and silk worms can't find them at all I've been looking to order them but everyone is out of stock now but that's why you hold the super worms with the tongs Bc they bite its nature to them yes but in reality we keep them in enclosures in our homes they're not in the wild so it's us who's keeping them safe to me mine is so precious when I do the meal worms I supervise it Bc to me that's a threat but he loves them so much and he knows when I'm going to put them in he'll wait and turn light blue and yellow same with crickets as ell with the whole hitting shananigain it can cause skin probs

I kinda hate to admit, but I do try to "squeeze" the heads of really big super worms because I've seen how they swing around and try to bite when I grab them with tongs. My Cham likes them, but I've personally seen what looked like a bite next to her mouth from a super worm, and never want that to happen again. I think "maiming" them before they're put anywhere in the enclosure is necessary. The rule of no bigger than the space between their nose, that's width and not length right? Chloe has gobbled up several long superworms with no problem, but width wise I do not attempt....

I've had to specify "the smallest worms you have" for horn worms. I ordered from Josh's Frogs, and got a big worm batch, then they sent me a new batch of smaller worms at no cost to me. I tried a couple "bigger worms" with Chloe and she gobbled them up as I watched in suspense....no problem. She loves hornworms no matter big or small lol. The really big ones I tried to pupate with no success....

Lemmy loves all kinds of worms. I try to keep the superworms at a manageable width. He'll take some huge hornworms and loves silkies. I'm trying to pupate hornworms it's a messy project when they turn to moths and the hummingbird feeder attracts pests. It's easier just to order eggs. The only thing he doesn't seem to like is roaches. I really want to try some phasmida...I know he'll snap them up.

I once had a dragon that got bit from a super worm and bad too, she took awhile after that to eat them.
Yeah I don't think no I would even give mine another one if he got it and it got bad my sisters dragon had to have surgical soap on him Bc the bite made it where he couldn't shed it skin at all

I'm so anxious to try silk worms I hear such good things about everyone's chameleons with the silks ! I'm just trying to find a good website to order them from

Hatch your own. Got to Coastal Silkworms, a site sponsor. Your sister's bearded dragons will love the extras. Buy 1000 and lots of dried food and make it up as you need it.

If you let the put the superworm /hornworm on the screen and let it grab hold and crawl anywhere in your chams site. If they are hungry they should take it pretty fast. It may take a sec to get the hang but its easy and they prefer it to hand feeding. Also, as far as a superworm, it does not have to be shorter than the eye space, that would be a tiny worm. Are your adult chams eyes two inches apart like an adult superworm: No. And they eat them no problem. You just have to feed cautiously. I would not feed a very large superworm to any panther under 7-8month range depending on size. Also, not sure i understand all the tongs. Its easier for me to just put on thin gloves if I don't want to touch a feeder.

I just tried this method yesterday with a super worm. I couldn't get the timing right with my Cham shooting and me letting go with the forceps(the really big super worms creep me out, can't hand feed them) so I put one on an ivy leaf and she got it real quick.
Never use forceps - since we can't match their speed or can cause serious tongue damage 😳
