For my 4 month old veiled. Who will be coming bright and early in the morning. So is 16X16X30 a good starter enclosure for a 4 month old male? I will also be getting a massive 24X24X48 trmw as well but I figured since I already had the smaller one setup I would grow him into the bigger one. Is this a good decision? Check it out. And also all the lighting and stuff will be set up tmrw and I will also block the mirror from his view. This cage is also about four feet off of the ground plus the height of the cage. So let me know what you guys think. By the way the plants in there have been cleaned and they are umbrella plants.
Thanks

JMO- the more branches the better , both vertical and horizontal:)

Hah. Thanks. Im tryin. You think the enclosure is enough for a 4 month old? And when should I upgrade to the big one?

trust me...you will know:p...if u feel is is cramped up then its time to move....actually in my opnion you can just put him in the big cage now....the thing is that ppl, dont like the bugs hiding so they cup feed...but for now go with the small cage and i say dump the crix and let him hunt....JMHO...good luck and dont worry, now is the exciting part:cool:

no probs man....and thats what its all about here:cool:....and plz post pics of your lil guy.when he arrives...

Yes, good luck!

You'll have to post pics of your Cham...

I started my guys in a smaller cage and let them hunt naturally instead of cup feeding..... smaller cages are good for allowing a youngster to hunt. A youngster in a large cage may have difficulty hunting or finging his food... but not always so... as Ace mentioned you will know when the cage is to small and they are looking for more room. I just order both my guys adult cages, they are 5 months old and I knew it was time I was going to wait til 6 months.. but Wilson started placing the cage floor and walls allot so I knew it was time!

Again, good luck! :D

lol... My Aunt stopped the other day to see Dexter for the 1st time and she said "wow, he is bigger than Wilson"... I laughed and then she looked at Wilson and said "Oh, my GOD... he got huge since last I saw him"!

I am hoping he takes after his PaPa... If so I will be a proud MaMa!! lol!!!! ;)

Your set up looks great and your little guy will be happy. I'm getting a baby panther tomorrow and am putting the finishing touches on his cage. I am starting him off in a 12x12x24 cage and then will be moving him into a larger one when he is ready. Good luck! :D

that's so awesome congrats! I didn't know it was okay to have a mirror behind. Do they like that? I am curious, I'd like to put a mirror behind mine as long as he doesn't freak out about it. Looks awesome though!

Enjoy!
