Hi again I'm an expecting owner of a panther coming wed. I have read a lot but dont know if there is a difference between colored silks. Also should I cover my dirt with rocks in my live plants. Heard they might eat soil. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

When I started feeding silks I just went with the variety that mine had been previously fed so he would already be familiar with them.
I put rocks on top of my soil just in case.

Thank you. I will ask the breeder about the worms and cover the dirt. Thanks for the help.

Not too much difference in worms from what I know. As for the rocks, I use them to reduce the amount of soil washed away from misting and as a precaution for impaction from eating soil. It isn't a major issue, but still a possibility and I tend to like to reduce any unnecessary issues

Yellow silk is produced by those with more wild genes in them. My type is a hybrid species (with wild genetics in them) but also tons of line breeding with healthier captive bred stock which took me 2 years to get where I am now. This last batch only produced 2 white cocoons, while everyone produced pale yellow to gold colors.

Ok great that helps. I'll keep u in mind I take it you sell your stock. And do the come as worms or do I need to buy eggs. Thanks a lot for your help.

I do sell my stock but currently am not doing so. Mine would come as worms or eggs, depends on what you needed at the time.

Good to know. Guess I'll start out with worms and eventually try hatching. But thanks again
