Yellowlip or Orange eye?

His eyes look like they are turning turquoise not orange and it does look like his lips are classic golden yellow found on Yellow Lips. To totally confirm he is a Yellow Lip though probably got to give him another 6 months to mature when his juvenile colors are totally gone.

Has anyone successfully bred Parsonii in the US?

They have been bred in the USA very irregularly and hatching success of the fertile eggs produced has been normally low.

Looks like the Yellow Lip Parsons retain their juvenile colors longer than Orange Eyed Parsons. Your juvenile is big for still having got juvenile colors from what it looks like in your pictures. Would you say thats accurate (confirm that statement)?

He has grown about 2 inches in the last 4-5 months. 260 grams and growing, at this rate he will be huge when mature.

why is it difficult to breed parsons in the US??

Parsons take a long time to mature 3-5 yrs. They only breed once a year, cued by seasonal change. Gravid females have a high mortality rate. The eggs have a long incubation period 14-24 months. The only thing that happens fast in parsons husbandry is disaster.
