Yoko is Gone

Have she ever had a fecal or been treated with dewormer?
I hope she gets well. At least she has her color still. When they turn dark and have sunken eyes they are pretty much lost.

These Bradypodion are captive bred, they didnt come in with parasites or worms. She most likely got bit by something being outside in the summer in north carolina where there are a ton of bugs.
Snake, what does the mesh wire look like on the cage theyre in? and has she been dehydrated? or does that cage have an automatic mister set up on it...

Sorry I have not had time to reply back guys.

Im happy (and surprised) to say she is still with us. :)

She has not shown any signs of dehydration until today.

They get an ample amount of water daily.

Im not so sure she is/was dehydrated, she drank alot earlier for me, but her eyes being sunken could be from stress of the injuries.

I believe something chewed on her, likely a large cricket.

I did find a few very large crickets in the enclosure after digging through all the lower grasses.

She has multiple small marks on her body, and the vent area has obvious damage, but I dont think its severe. Her body is likely under alot of stress and shock trying to repair the damages.

I think she can make it if thats all it is, but we will have to wait and see.

She looks awful, very dilapidated and worn out in appearance.

I have moved them inside for the night, where they are safe, and will officially re-house them tomorrow in separate enclosures, provided the weather is cooperative.

Thanks for all the prayers and good vibes everyone, its much appreciated.

poor girl! Hope everything continues to go well and she pulls through this for you.

What an awful thing to wake up to. All I could think of is something bite her. They were still outside correct? if she was inside I would have even less idea. I am so very sorry.
This is the third one of our imports in 2 weeks. There is no reason for any of them. My heart goes out to you.

Darn. I didnt know there were 2 already gone:( Hopefully your girl pulls through. Ive got my fingers crossed.

so..so.. sorry buddy.

I'm sorry to here your little girl ain't doing too well our prayers and best wishes are with you and her hope she can pull threw man.

Thanks everyone.

I mean that, I appreciate how supportive you guys are.

One of the things that makes this community great.

Yoko passed during the night.

She had either wandered or fell to the bottom of the enclosure, and burrowed herself under a towel, with just her tail sticking out.

I scooped her up with a matchbook, still so young and small. :(

I feel she must have been attacked by some insect or spider, I cant think of anything else that could have caused her injury.

If I find out anything further, Ill let you all know.

Im not one to look at death as a sad occurrence, but this definitely has me bummed out a bit. :(

Ill miss you little one, rest well.

Sorry to hear Snake... RIP Yoko..

One thing I find odd, is when mine passed I found her the same way, burrowed in the dirt tail out. I wonder if this is something instinctual or just coincidental?

Awwww, poor little thing, I am soooo sorry :(

I think you are right, maybe a spider bite!!
That is so sad to loose them so young
