Sorry for your loss. Did you mist and provide drinking water from the tap? This can be a bad idea in summer time since most water depts usually add more chemicals (mostly higher chlorine levels especially older water treatment plants) to keep bacteria down it's safe for people but to small sensitive animals tap water can poison them pretty quick.
