so like usual when i get off school i feed him and today he ate 4 crickets and on the 5th one he hissed at me and ran. I feel like i ruined hand feeding or will he forget about it by tomorrow

Its hard to say. Chameleons in general tend to have mood swings. Especially if they are in the "teenager" phase. Stay consistent but try not to force him to interact with you. By the way, can you tell us his age and how much you are feeding him?? He will definitely need more than 4 crickets per day. Even if that means not hand feeding them.

When I first got my veiled at like 3 - 5 months he ate 6+ crickets after having been fed earlier in the day. My baby ambanja I just picked up like 5 days ago at 3 months old is also a voracious hunter and is a pig. I know you are excited to hand feed but throw some free range crickets in or a feeding cup. He'll figure it out.

This chameleon has had ongoing troubles for the last couple months. Trust me, him eating anything at all is a relief!!

He is eating on his own he shoots the cricket out of my fingers but when i held the 5th one up to him he hissed and ran away lol i guess it’s just that teenager phase

I offer 10 crickets a day at least he’s eating at this point he is about 5-6 months old now.i do throw some crickets in his cup too so they are available to him

I just got the dragonstrand clearside enclosure with the same dimensions. It's AMAZING. I HIGHLY recommend . I think them being cramped really puts them in a foul and stressed mood.

I think the problem was supplementing and vitamins because he’s had his eyes open constantly the past few days and his tongue shoots a lot farther

The crickets are actually large crickets they are 3/4-1 in crickets is this why yes only eating 5-7 crickets a day
