I just got a new Zilla slimline light fixture that comes with a bulb. The bulb says its ment from tropical reptiles.

Slimline Tropical Fixtures:
•Slimline Tropical Fixture includes a 18" Tropical 25 T8 fluorescent bulb with a UVB output of 25 microwatts per second/cm2 @ 12"
•Ideal for Anoles, Day Geckos, Tokay Geckos, Iguanas, Basilisks, Chameleons, Chinese Water Dragons, Tegus, Red-eared Slider & Red Foot Tortoises

Should I replace the bulb with a retisun 5.0?

I agree. Change it out! You could take the chance but its just to risky! I have found the best place to get the Reptisun 5.0 is reptiledirect.com . They charge 19.88 plus shipping. They have some pretty good deals on stuff. I ususally get a bunch of stuff and then the shipping seems miniscual.

I bought a zila slimline fixture and a reptisun buld thinking I would be able to swap the bulds out. When I tried to turn the reptisun tube to lock it in place it would not fit. It seemed like the two prongs that stick out of the ends of the buld were one or two millimeters to wide. I guess it is possible i just didnt muscle it into place, but I was afraid if I twisted any harder the buld would break. On the up side I found a reptisun hood without the buld for twenty dollars, the zilla slim with buld was twenty-eight.
