Zip Tie Trick

So I finished building my chameleons enclosure today and I picked up a little trick from my dad a while back that I used on my zip ties. I don't know if this is like something a lot of people know but I might as well share just in case ?

Basically, once you cut a zip tie, you can bring a lighter up close enough that the flame is barley touching and leave it there for 2-3 seconds. This will melt the plastic tip and create an end that isn't sharp. I'll include a few pics below. Also, just be sure not to burn anything around it and don't leave it there long enough for anything to melt off it it!

I know what I'm doing when I get home lol

Great idea. I clean cut mine with a razor so there is nothing sharp hanging out... But melting would be much safer for my hands lol

Oldie but goodie. ?

Cautionary note:
Please don't do it around any critters, and ventilate well during & afterward—Fumes! ?
