Zoo Med Combination Hood

Does anyone own one? If so, I have a few questions. Do all the lights come with a switch or do they all turn on together? What type of wattage day and night bulbs does it take? Does it provide efficient heat to the cage? How long should I get the combination hood if the cage is 16x16x30? 18x8x36? 24x24x48? Does the length correspond to the length of what Reptisun 5.0 I should get? Thank you to all those who reply.

Got one of these a few years ago and love it. Found it great keeping a variety of light sources in one fixture. Bought mine from LLLReptiles (site sponsor) Some answers to your questions below; they could also probably help getting you specs for maximum watts and size configurations:

Do all lights come with switch or do they turn on together? I have the 30 inch which comes with 3 bulbs and one fixture for the florescent tube. Has 3 switches (2 bulbs on one switch with the other bulb and florescent each on their own switch). Found this does not matter much since there is only one power cord and I have it on a timer so all lights need to turn on and off at the same time. There is no way to have the individual switches on separate timers unless you re-wire it.

What type of wattage? Enough heat? I have one 75w bulb for heat, two 6500k bulbs for plants and a repitsun 5.0 for UVB. Not sure what the max is for the ceramic bulb fixtures but 75w provides sufficient heat for my set up. Basking spot is approximately 85 degrees about 5 inches below the bulb. Don't have a night bulb.

What length bulb & light? Get the hood that corresponds to the length of your cage. The length of the hood may not correspond to the length of the bulb. My 30 inch hood takes a 24 inch bulb. Also, while the 30 inch has 4 fixtures total the smaller hoods will have fewer.

Don't have many good pics - one is below but doesnt show much. Photos on the web sites that sell them are better.
