Zoomed cage mesh has holes in it.

Like title says my cham's screen cage has holes in it, some are from when i had branches wired to the mesh and the weight of him being on the branches caused the mesh to tear, and some of the holes are because for a short time my cat thought climbing up the side of the cage and sitting on the top was the best place to be >.< I also have small holes on the top of the cage where the dripper hose used to be.

some of the holes are large enough to put the tip of my finger through, sooo because of that, the adult dubia roaches i was giving him were escaping through these holes. I have since switched to cup feeding, to make sure his bugs stay in the cage.

Is there anything i can do to close up the holes, can i plug them or something? If not, we were thinking of building him a cage out of chicken wire. Any tips for that would also be appreciated because we've never done anything like that before.

I used some metal screen from the hard wear store and just cuts some patches out and sewed them around the hole.

You could also use nylon thread to sew over the holes. If there are a bunch you can re-screen the entire panel. Hardware stores sell aluminum replacement screen.

--Hot glue patches on to the big ones. or...
---Get a new cage. or...
----Get a Dragon strand cage with those built in ledges you can anchor branches too and never again put a hole in your screens.

I build enclosures for people on the side, take the time to build your own setup, its very rewarding. I'm building one this weekend and I just had this screen delivered to my house today for that build. Since every intersection is welded it does not warp or distort when handled like normal screen. You can get cheaper rolls if $ is an issue. But between now and then there were plenty of good suggestions above!
