Zoomed Combo Dome

Does anyone use the zoomed combo domes ? Thinking for my heatbulb and compact uv bulb I could use this on top of my reptibreeze does anyone use them ?

I have a ZooMed combo dome. I really like it. It came with my screen cage kit, but I'd recommend it others. I had a problem with one in the past, where you'd screw in the bulb wasn't working. You'd have to tilt the bulb a certain way for it to work, so I returned it and haven't had a problem with one since.

I currently use one on my juvenile cage. They are good to start out using with baby and young chams in small/medium sized cages. I will be moving up to a two bulb T5 fixture for the adult cage with one linear UVB and a plant grow bulb. I will probably still use the combo fixture to house the heat bulb in one socket

How does it work with the UV though ? Is there one or two plugs ? because If I put the heat on a stat, and it gets too hot , if there's only one plug it will turn my UV off aswell ?

I have one. I like it. There are two plugs with a switch on each plug. The switches are about 1 foot away from the light fixture.

I always had issues with mine putting out minimal UVB. I thought it was great until I got a solarmeter and got to test that bad boy out. I know people use them with success, but on their own, they offer very minimal lighting especially for a 2x2x4 enclosure

I've been on the fence about getting a solarmeter. My Cham spends time outside almost every day and when she doesn't she gets direct sunlight from the window, while it's open. I want to put the money towards the new enclosure I'm building.

I would tend to agree. If your cham gets outside time, then just throw that money into a dope new home for him. We just finished winter up here so outside time wasn't really a viable option. My guy just got his first sunlight in probly 6 months last weekend and he for sure appreciated it!

I threw out the thing, hated it and wouldnt sell it, mainly because I hate CFL's... personal preference however
