ZooMed ReptiBreeze enclosures

Hi all,

So, I have been gathering leftover supplies and making a list of what to buy this weekend from HD/Rona in order to make a couple more screen cages. I don't remember how, but I came across a ZooMed enclosure called ReptiBreeze. The prices are pretty decent - just a few $$$ more than I would pay in DIY supplies to make a fully enclosed aluminum screen cage.

Has anyone had any experience with these cages? I'll assume they're new products because when I searched the product name on here, I got zero hits. :p Any disadvantages? Problems with the frame/screen/nuts 'n bolts?

Looking at it, I'd say it was perfect, if you were to get the large or X-large. Must be a really new product, cause they weren't up when I started to build my enclosure. Would have gone with one of them if they had.

I just saw those the other day and I was so happy to see the big companies are FINALLY starting to offer quality products for more species (in this case, most arboreal reptiles). They're priced right in between LLL's cages and FLChams' ... I have no idea what the quality difference might be (I've owned none of the above). The ZooMed's though have the highest chance of making it into a PetSmart, so hopefully one day those will be recommended for a new chameleon instead of what they currently suggest, which seems to be 10 gallon glass aquariums ;p

I bought 4 of these about a 2 months ago, they rust :( I emailed the company and they said they were going to look at the problem since they were supposed to be aluminum screen. But the fact is they rust and I even took pictures and sent those to them They are supposed to contact me when they have a solution. They are nice, but I think LLL's are better quality.

Zoomed come out with the glass style first to compete with Hagens....Zoomed made a few improvements on the glass version from hagens (1 door, deeper bottom, and no plastic strip across the top screen for the lights to melt). This is their version of screen to compete with hagens screen enclosure.

Nice to see the options available with the bigger names for sure, but still like custom making mine to fit my chams needs and the spaces I have to fit them in.

OUch! I would hate to have gotten them and then had the screen start to rust. Did the frame begin to rust at all?
I am still sitting on the fence with these things. For anyone interested, I saw them for sale on a Canadian page that sells fish/pet supplies: www.petsandponds.com. For orders under $250, shipping to the states is $12; free if your order is over. The cages are also cheaper if you buy two at a time. With our dollar being down right now, and yours doing significantly better, it might be a good time to buy ;)

I have a breeze and it hasnt rusted as of yet have had it for about two months now.

The only thing i dont like about it is the floor it was cut crooked and has a small gap if not put down correctly. but as far as the price i paid 80$ for a large at an expo and the xlarge was only 20$ more . assy of this cage was simple and all that was needed was a phillips screw driver

The frame is OK, I even think is plastic, I'll check as soon as I get home, the screen is the one that rusted, from the bottom mainly. As many Canadians know, this was my only option, since importing cages from the USA was more expensive and would have been longer to get them.

That is exactly what my screen cage is. 2x2x4. I got mine for $90 at All Animal expo at beginning of February. X-large is what it said on the box. Most of my posts have pictures of it.

I bought a large one of these reptibreeze cages for my female panther. I have had it going on 4 months but it is true they rust. The screen itself not neccessarly the frame. No holes or deterioration has occured yet from the rust but you can easily see the rust color on the mesh screen in the areas where I mist. : / Until they fix the problem I would rather go with an higher priced one from FLChams or just go with LLReptile.

I called support and here is a copy and paste of their response, unbelievable!:

"...For now, I would like to suggest that you remove the animals from the enclosures, take the enclosures outside or into a well ventilated room or workshop, wipe them down and spray the rusted areas with an anti rust spray paint. Be sure that they are allowed to dry completely (24 hours) and have no odor before returning your animals to them. I am terribly sorry for this inconvenience and I appreciate your time and patience while we sort this matter out."...

Hahaha, She almost suggested, I guess next step will be "remove screen and replace with a new one"... Just imagine I bought 5 of them can you imagine if I had to re paint all 5 right out of the box???

So my advice, stay away from these!!!

BTW, this email was sent January 09, I'ms still waiting for a response.

I have 3 of the 2 xlarge ones and a small one. I mist 5 times a day and have never had a issue in the 4 months I have had them, in my opinion there great cages.

They have steel screening (not alum), and are built and packaged in China. You might want to check them for lead also LOL.
