im thinking of getting a reptarium for my 5 month old panther.

anyone oppose? or is it good?. maybe a 65 gallon i might get... right now i have the 12x12x18 exo terra terrarium. 3 sides glass and the top is mesh...its ok but small..

my big question is the reptarium has 100% ventilation therefore it doesnt hold humidity as good as the one i have.....

please help me guys im not sure what to do...

I suggest a screen cage from lllreptile.com I have both and the lll cage kicks the reptariums butt times twenty. That or a cage from diycages.com a male panther will need a 2x2x4 foot cage as an adult.

Screen is recommended and humidity can be maintained much more easily with live plants and 3-5 long mistings per day.

I use 65 gallon reptariums for most of my large male veileds, they kind of suck but they work. Screen cages work much better but if its a matter of cost reptariums have the screens beat. Reptariums are also sort of a pain to clean.

im thinking of getting a reptairum and putting a big plant inside and thats it. lights on top and that does it for the setup.

plain and simple.....ive seen many people do that with amazingly healthy chameleons.

im a little short on money...50 bucks is all i can spare and the reptariums are about that much for 60 gallon so thats big enough.

Have you tried looking for cages on your local craigslist? Could save you money and get you a better cage.

I have a couple of 100 g Reptariums, and they're OK, if you modify them heavily (but don't you do that to any cage?). I cut a section of screen to line the floor; this second floor makes it easier to clean, and to collect stools if you need to. I add tons of vines and fake plants. Live plants if you can swing them. Lights above will have to be on some sort of support, probably not resting on the Reptarium. Dripper, mister, other water sources as you choose. Underneath I use a concrete-mixing tray to catch water. I ziptie some plastic sheeting to the back to reduce drips hitting the wall, and I have ghetto digs for new chams.

Later you can move to bigger custom made cages, with indoor plumbing.

Oh yeah,

The zippers really suck. They are the single most compelling reason to get a better cage.

Reptariums are screen..... and LLL sells them as well... ;)

There isn't anything wrong with a reptarium... if that is what you can get... get it... if you have the option for the aluminum screen cages, get that.

Reptariums are just a pain in the butt to clean sometimes... Although if you put a plastic bottom in, like in the LLL aluminum cages, it would be pretty easy to clean.

How old?

Reptariums are 'screen' or... screen mesh....

LLL also sells screen cages that are made of window screen. The aluminum window screen material cages are much better than the reptariums... MAINLY because the metal screen cages are easier to clean and the amount of light that can pass through the top of the cage.

A reptarium doesn't pass light as well as the other LLL cage.

hes about 4-5 months old.. i want to get the aluminum cage but none of them ship to canada....thats the problem.. so im stuck with the reptariums. Plus i dont want to buy something from international and pay shipping cost which will double the price of the item because its a big product to ship.

Just make sure to monitor feeding. People have successfully raise babies in 2x2x4's before, but it takes a bit of careful watching for signs of problems like getting lost and not being able to find food or not spending enough time in the UVB range.

If u get a reptarium I would sugest a 10.0 uvb bulb because of how dense reptarium screen is. Llreptile screen cages are the best manufactured cages u can buy. This is just my olpinion.
