these will be to small for Dave at the moment i think (see pics) he's about 9 months old now what size should they be for him?
Hey guys,
i want dave to try some silkys as i have heard they are arguably the best feeder for chams. i cannot find anywhere that sells them so i have asked my local to source them and butterworms. if they cannot source them i will see if they can breed/them
A: does anyone know of a u.k...
i have found the same thing with my Veiled, he is coming on 9 months now and his appitite has dropped over the past month he's now eating about 2 large (not adult) locusts every two days 1 wax worm and a super or two (i think) i free range the locusts but the worms go in the feeding pot...
i have kept a VFT before and they are easy enough but remember if you touch one of the hairs in the trap and then another within a few seconds, the trap will close. this uses alot of energy and if there isn't a bug in there to replace that spent energy it will die off. the reason i raise that...
i have a one month old and i got dave (male veiled) moments before we found out the Mrs was pregnant, always wash my hands after i have handled anything inside his house or any feeders not had any issues yet.:)
i don't understand this whole coil CFL issue with exoterra. from my understanding its wavelengths below 300 which are the issue (not found in natural sunlight) exoterra CFLs as far as im aware do not produce those wavelengths, can someone elaberate?
Great to hear :) Dave still wont eat them :( he used to eat crickets locusts and waxworms, now he eats locusts (refuses crickets and morio's) will occasionally eat mealworms i only give him two waxes a week (he went through a stage of only eating them and refusing everything else) im going to...
a nice trick if you have a stand alone shower, point shower head against the wall, norm temps pop a branch in there sit him on the branch and turn the shower on, dont shower him but the shower should steam up (not hot though) nicely like a warm mist it will sit on him and he should drink :) i...

:pok the the solar glo uvb levels were good overall temps were good and dave loved it but it blew twice in 4 weeks i now have 2 spot lamps and 1 10% UVB and the two coils that came with my previous set up, he loves it. his appitite has improved bit friendlier now and good temps/ UV levels, one...
i used a solar glo for a little while (much to alot of peoples horror on here lol) Dave (my veiled) loved it temps were great overall temps were also good i borrowed a solar meter and everything was good, although my first one lasted 2 weeks and then smashed whilst poor dave was basking under it...
fair enough pssh i like dave too much for risks i'll pinch a meter from work and check but i will def look into picking up some tubes :) i think two 26" across the top would be good. Cheers guys :)
ok guys the light inside the viv is switched off leaving the 35C basking area only so are you guys saying that i should take the solar glow 10% back to the shop and get tubes and spots? whats wrong with the solar glow? as you have probably noticed for every bit of advice i find on the...
miss lilly, i use nutribal as my calcium/nutrients should i increase this to twice a week? or continue to dust once a week and get a seperate calcium only powder for everday? Dave doesn't seem to want to or attempt to climb on the interior basking light approx 7" from the vine (see pic), but i...
the exo-terra is a dual top coil UVB type bulbs (2 x reptiglo 5.0) which was fine in his last place? this is one of the uvb sources the other is the huge 160W 10% UVB and basking light in one (solar glo) i was actually thinking maybe that was was too much. i have meshed over the bulb part of the...
