He always sleeps with his chin on a branch, but last night he fell asleep with his head tilted back, looking up. Maybe he was looking for food and just passed out. Hopefully the pictures work, this is the first time posting pics from my phone.
My 5 month old veild's tongue is blue/purple for the length of it, and pink on just the tip. Everything else is totally normal and he eats well, catching 95% of what he shoots at. Its been this way for most of the time i have had him, so i don't think its an injury, although it looks like a real...
I know that too many mealworms can cause problems because of the exoskeletons, but what if I wait for the worm to change to pupa and shed its shell? They are very soft and my chameleon loves them. Anyone see a problem with this? His staple is Dubias, but these mealworm pupas have become about...
Poor guy has MBD. Chameleons need both normal heat bulbs and also UVB bulbs. If you don't have a uvb light then you need one asap. Also, you should supplement vitamin d3 twice a month. You should take him to the vet for calcium shots.
And you did not mention either uvb nor d3 in the...
My guy will eat them from my finger tips, but before that I would put a few in a plastic cup that they cant climb out of, and I would put a few more on the leafs of his plants. That way you can be sure he eats, but also has some to hunt for.
Is a "DIY cage" a brand name? I ordered my Repti-breeze (kind of DIY) from Amazon.com for really cheap, and I have also built a true DIY cage from parts from home depot, also for relatively cheap.
EDIT: Never Mind, I found diycages.com. How are these cages superior to the repti-breeze?
He is about 4-5 months. All of his behavior seems normal, but the edge of his casque and his eye ridges are turning a dull greyish brownish color. They used to be bright green like the rest of him. It's he just growing up, or could I have a problem?
I would post my info sheet, but I am posting...
I ordered my baby male veiled from flchams. Everything went well with my transaction, and I also know what the sire of the baby looks like (Newton). Lll doesn't show you the parents because they don't breed them.
It is a male about 3-4 months, and when he hisses at me it sounds like he is wheezing on the intake breath. He makes a little squeak. Otherwise his breathing seems fine, no weird mucus in his mouth, and he eats/sleeps/drink well. I figured he is squeaking because his windpipe is still so...
I have one of Newtons offspring too! He looks almost identical to yours. How is the temperament of yours, because mine is quite grumpy and gets stressed very easy...
Thanks for replies guys. If he were just freely climbing on the cage I wouldn't be concerned, but the way he is attracted to the bulb, and his coloration and restlessness still kind of worries me. Right now I don't have a tube light, it is the compact version of the 5.0 repti-sun. It seems...
