I will try to get a better pic. I have never seen her do that. But I do believe that she is gravid because her colors and also she has been extremely restless in her cage for about a week now. Not sure if the two things are related but I figure the more information the better.
I am trying to see if there is a way to move the silkworms without manually moving each one. The setup im using is a large, shallow, tupperware with plastic canvas at the bottom. I have extra canvas cutouts that ive been switching daily when I change out any chow that has not been eaten. But...
Right now im just feeding them the chow. I havent been able to find a mulberry tree where I live yet so I had my mom package a big box with the leaves and ship them. Going to keep them refrigerated and use those until I can find a better source. The trouble ive been having it separating them...
Im in the process now. I have 100 medium silks and trying not feeding off any. But so far its been ALOT of cleaning up after them. And the silk makes it a little difficult to clean and replace the old food.
I finally ordered some silks and plan to attempt to breed them. My question is when should I switch them into a larger container? It says when they start to over crowd to petri dish. But to me they look overcrowed already.
I have failed about 4 or 5 times. Checked on mine yesterday and FINALLY they hatched. Only thing I did different this time was have the temperature close to the 90s. Maybe that was it? But I sure was stoked to see them finally hatch.
You can place him on a plant inside your shower with the water aimed at the wall. The water will splash onto him. But I do think it may take much more than that to bring him back to good health. Hopefully some other members can help further because thats very sad to see
A couple of times I have glanced over to see each of my baby panthers firing up and opening their mouth real wide. It almost looked as if they were practicing. None of my chams can see each other from their cage either
