The more I read up the more confused I get. What is the optimum humidity for an adult male veiled chameleon?

My veiled had an infected casque. Once the infection had cleared, as the vet predicted, it sloughed off by itself. Would an infected tail do the same? I am not giving advice, I still feel like a very inexperienced chameleon keeper, maybe someone who knows could clarify this.

Is it safe to collect dead wood branches from the woods and use them in Karmas' new viv? Also is it legal in the UK to collect dead wood. I don't want to get into trouble. :confused:

Thanks for your reply. Karma has taken all his meds and there is no more orange stuff coming out of his casque. His casque looks much the same, thin looking at the top and covered in unshed skin. I'm hopeful the top of his casque has survived, it might be wishful thinking but I think I can see...
