    Alternatives to egg crate?

I have over 1500 dubia roaches coming my way but no egg crate. I can get used stuff from my local pet store, but I didn't spend the money on roaches to smell cricket poop. I wondered about folded or crumpled card stock... I'm saving up toilet paper and paper towel rolls, but unless I greatly...

How to prevent damage to hardwood floors from misting system?

I ended up getting "marine vinyl" fabric to line the floor. As easy as plastic, but more attractive. It's still a work in progress, but for the moment I am satisfied.

    Advice on night time temperatures?

They are panthers. I just got them. I was concerned because this morning my guy was really dark and clearly trying to warm up.

    Advice on night time temperatures?

I've heard it's acceptable for the chameleons to be lowered into a temperature of around the mid 60s or so at night. Do they still need a heat source if I do this? Or since they're sleeping are the mid-sixties okay?

How to prevent damage to hardwood floors from misting system?

The enclosures aren't the problem. I don't get much water coming out of the enclosure from the sprayer system. The screen seems to catch most of the overspray and it just forms droplets on the screen. Not much gets out. The problem seems to be mostly in the free range. Not sure what I'm going to...

    My first chams come Saturday!

Thanks guys! I got them this morning and they're doing very well. My guy has eaten 5 crickets in less than two hours! He must be a good hunter, and a piggy!

How to prevent damage to hardwood floors from misting system?

Thanks for the fast reply! I'll do I have to do, but refinishing the floors would mean that I have to remove all my chameleons and plans to do it for a few days. The plastic might work, but I know from experience that if any water happens to get under the plastic then it sits there and you get...

How to prevent damage to hardwood floors from misting system?

Hello everyone! I have my mistking system set up on the ceiling to spray down on my free range. However some of the water is getting on the floor. I can't shorten the duration, otherwise my humidity drops. Of course, I could shorten the duration and get a humidifier in addition, but I'd like...

    Feeding schedule?

Is there a chart that equates age or weight with how much a panther chameleon should eat? I know the "between the eyes" rule, but this doesn't tell me HOW MANY insects to feed. Help much appreciated-- TA

    My first chams come Saturday!

Getting an ambilobe male (son of chameleon paradise's 24k) and a female, daughter of cowboy! Super jazzed! I admit I'm a little overwhelmed getting everything around. I keep thinking I'm almost done, but then I see opportunities for improvement. Damn my perfectionism! It doesn't help that I'm...

    Water heater for misting system

I'm new at this, but from what I've heard, you can get the water the reservoir pretty hot, because by the time it gets to the cham it cools down quite a bit. You'll want to test this out first, of course. I've heard that a small aquarium heater works well. This is the system I'll be setting up...

HELP: Best Enclosure for Baby Cham?

She's 3" total. I'm probably going to raise the floor and/or drop the ceiling in a 18x18x36 enclosure that I got. I can continually adjust it as she grows. I've heard of it being done... anyone know a good way to do this?

HELP: Best Enclosure for Baby Cham?

I have a screen cage, but it's too big for the baby. Do they make tiny screen cages? Perhaps I can section off a section of the large screen cage? (It's a Zoo Med Repti Breeze.)

Temperature/Humidity extremes when traveling through the house

Hello: It has been recommended to me to take my chams out in the summertime to get some fresh air and sunshine. I was wondering, though, if in going to from the warm, humid, cham room, through the colder, dryer house, then back out into the warm, humid outdoors would be stressful... or since...

HELP: Best Enclosure for Baby Cham?

Hello all: I have a 3" long baby cham coming to me on Saturday, and I'm concerned about the enclosure. Plastic tubs have been recommended to me, possibly with the tops cut out and replaced with screen, but this doesn't make much sense, considering most of these same people get pretty crabby...

How young is too young for free range?

I have a small freerange setup in my cham room. (NOTE: I'm not talking about roaming the whole house here.) One of the chams I'm getting on Saturday is 7 months old, 3" long. When can she go out to play? TA

What to do on the First Day Home?

Hello all: My first cams are coming Saturday, and I'm wondering what I should be prepared for the first day. With other pets I have, it has been recommended to me to place the animal in it's enclosure and leave it alone for a day. This seems logical. I certainly wouldn't expect to handle them...
