It looks like alien technology:D Glad you found a solution.
Wiping out as needed should be fine. Depending on your misting schedule, the smaller puddles will probably evaporate.
Do you have a way to measure the humidity? I have a juvenile veiled and once his skin starts to REALLY shed, he usually clears up in about 1-2 days. The humidity helps loosen the old skin. If your guy started last week and still has that much clinging to him (it looks like there is a good bit in...
They are transferable according to this: http://www.bioone.org/doi/abs/10.1645/GE-550R1.1?journalCode=para. I don't think the offspring would be infected, as the worm eggs seem to come from bird droppings. There is no real point in risking it though.
Thanks for the heads up:)
isolate and masticate
So, i caught around 40 isopods and i have them in a bucket with soil/leaves/wood/bark. . . But i'm not sure how to tell one species from the other. Some are solid-dark-grey, and others are lighter and have variances in their grey color. . . does the color indicate...
I have used this technique to make holes in plastic:
- find a (empty) tin can of the diameter needed (coffee/large - tomato paste/small)
-heat it open side down for around 15 seconds.
-use a pot holder or oven mitt to grab the can, use a slight twisting motion to work the heated can...
I only have 1.0 veiled (for now!), so i don't need quite that many. . .but should the need arise, could you describe how you store that many? do you separate them somehow?
Dubia arrived today!!
It has been a long time since i have had an up close look at an insect as large as Blaptica dubia, and the first time i have ever had 50 arrive in a box from the post office!
I ordered from:http://www.aaronpauling.com/, 50 assorted size. I am completely satisfied with...
Whoa!!
I was looking up mantis info and saw this:
Here is the context:

Do you think a Chinese mantis could harm an adult cham?
I have read that chams can't hear anything above middle C.
My GF plays violin (magnificently!) in the same room as our enclosure, it doesn't phase the veiled cham. Once in a while I play drums in the basement, and when i finish and check up on him he doesn't look stressed. . . Acoustic should...
word.
Thanks for the info! I kinda feel bad about using the praying mantis' as feeders because i find them quite interesting; but i could justify it if i raised as many as a casing will hatch to a fair size, kept a practical amount as feeders and released the rest in my yard. Maybe if they...
Thanks! i feel lucky to have him around!
I'm not sure exactly how old he is. From the size he was when i got him, i would have to guess that he was somewhere around 2+ months. So he's around 5+months now. He looks way bigger in the photo than he actually is (i cropped the pic), the perch is 5/8"...
