    Rope for climbing

I made climbing vines out of steel wire and twine. Shouldn't be more than $5 for roll of each, makes as many as you'll need. I double the wire for stability. Cut two lengths of wire( a little bit longer than the desired length of the branch), take a pair of pliers, line up the wires, and then...

I got darn near kicked out of a pet store

I've had a panther for about three weeks now, and although everyone has said all the good things about it, I'll throw in my two cents. There's a lot to worry about with these chameleons, but once you figure out a day-to-day routine, it all becomes very easy. The sooner you figure that out...

    Diy misting system

I looked into it, as I didn't like the pricing of what you could buy, and it doesn't really end up saving you that much. For it to be a true "misting" system, the pressure needs to be somewhat up there(I forget the specifics). Its not hard to find a pump that will provide the required...

    New Ambilobe baby photoshoot

Finally moved a bunch of photos off the camera! He's been getting bigger, he already looks small in these week old(taken 12/2) photos. These are him at about 4 months now. I've also started a picasa albulm for him, which you can find here...

    First shed!

My new male, about 4 months old, had his first shed a couple days ago! His colors are getting all the more vibrant! They're ranging from dark greens and blacks, to baby blue, all the way up to red and yellows. He started all white/grey, and eventually began bugging out, contracting and...

    Techniques on feeding? lol

I use a tupperware container for my dusting, I'm not sure this makes a difference. I just put the duster(open) in the cricket tub, grab one of the hiding spots in the cricket cage(usually toilet paper rolls) and shake crickets off until I have enough in the dusting cup, seal, shake, open and...

    New Ambilobe baby photoshoot

Some pics from the breeder Shauna, plus one of the sire, Fuego I will probably just open a hosting account somewhere, as this camera takes some massive pictures!

    New Ambilobe baby photoshoot

Just got a new male Ambilobe from Shauna at TreeCandy. He was introduced to his new enclosure yesterday, and was already eating dusted crickets, and even took two out of my hand! Still a little shook up though, as I'm sure a day in a dark box will do to you. I've caught glimpses of bright colors...

    The Taming of the Chameleon

I just got a new panther myself, only my second day having him! This post informed me a lot, and will help me throughout my time with him. I will say, he was already eating on his first day, and even took two crickets out of my hand! He still will only show me dark colors though, today...

curio or china cabinet for Chameleon

I've been working on a furniture re-purpose for some time now. Curio cabinets were one of my potential starting points, and although you would need to tear it up to provide adequate ventilation, the semi-circle look would make a great display imho. craigslist turned up a ton of pieces for me.

    Misting system

Alright, if the mist king timer can be switched off, than that meets my needs. I am in the process of implementing my own environment automation. I'm using an Arduino Uno with some humidity/temperature sensors to control the lights, heat lamp, misters, etc. Project I've been planning on doing...

    Misting system

Does anyone know of a good misting system that isn't automatic? I want something that turns on when you plug it in, and turns off only when you turn it off? All the mistking, etc. are programmed, which doesn't work in the system I want to setup

    Young enclosure

This wasn't going to be the actual enclosure, just a temp for the first month or two while I build the permanent one. I'll have to find a taller temp cage.... the $35 shipped seemed to good to pass up

    Young enclosure

Thanks for the advice, I forgot how size would mean hard to find! I am in the recon/prep stage of building my permanent enclosure, so a temporary enclosure seems like the right way to go. Did a scan on ebay, and found these...

    Young enclosure

I've noticed a lot of cham owners housing their young chams in a smaller enclosure, and upgrading them when they get bigger. Is this required? If I get a 3-4 month old panther, do I need to house it in a smaller enclosure, and only transferring when he's big enough? What are the reasons he...

Custom cage plans. Criticism and Advice please!

Thanks for all the advice, makes me all the more excited to get this done. Now I just need to find the right piece.... craigslist here I come. As far as the fans, I'm going to this much effort, I might as well, just to do it. I plan on implementing some automation for the enclosure, with...

Custom cage plans. Criticism and Advice please!

So I'm planning on re purposing an old pharmacy cabinet into a cham enclosure. Haven't found the right cabinet yet, but I'm going to be extremely picky until I find the right dimensions, design(upper area must be 2x2x4) , etc. For reference...

    Feeder Area

Thanks for all the info! I might just have to try and win her over with the roaches, they do seem like the best bet... I do like the idea of the hornworms too. The only issue I've seen with the silkworms is the popular opinion seems to be that they are very hard to breed...

    Feeder Area

Hello Everyone, first post! So I've been a herper all my life, and have always wanted a cham. Just graduated and am moving into an apartment with my girlfriend in NYC. So, I'm deciding between a panther or a veiled, and have been doing prep/research in the forum to make sure I have all the...
