yes i have a plant bulb and a 5.0 bulb in the same 4 ft. fixture, and his basking spot is right under the ubv light..
i had to place his lights right above the window since he picked that as his favorite place to chill. i want to get more plants and connect them so he can roam all the way...
More to come of course..For now just my Free-range veiled and crested gecko terraniums..im going to build a bearded dragon terranium in the near future..
ive used them for a while.. i just push them down in the dirt as far as possible. and i have a mesh screen on top of the dirt cause my veiled likes to eat dirt..
my umbrella trees stay green all year round with little to no problems..
i dont know of any effects of the fertilizer...
Thanx sandra, that article is awesome.
i hope my isopod colony takes off well. they look pretty low maintenance.
i might set up a small live terranium for them for looks, theyr kinda neat to look at also..
I have done the search tool for Isopods but mostly came up with them being used as cleaners for live terraniums...
Does any one have experience with breeding and using them as feeders?
My other concern is the Isopods being wild caught carrying parasites and such..
*how long to wait before...
That's my nightmare!!
I recently switched from Crix to Dubias. Im always paranoid of escapees since i live in an apartment..
Dubias are a bit easier to keep and handle but im traumatized by crickets.. My downstairs neighbors kept finding them in their apartment haha..
No escapees so far...
I have the basking light attached to the linear bulb housing, that way i know hes getting his rays even if hes basking..
Hes been mostly perched over the window where there is no light, i might just have to hang it up there since it seems to be his favorite spot.
As far as foliage im going...
hey everyone! i recently cleared out my office in my apartment and decided to make a free-range space for my veiled Alfie.. Here's what it looks like..I will be adding more foliage soon ..
However i do have some concerns.. Alfie seems to be mostly at the opposite end of the light setup, and...
I usually use a sharp new blade on a utility knife to clip any excess screen. if there's any stubborn little wires that wont cut, il use scissors or nail-clipper, but you can also push them into the spline with a flat screwdriver..
hope this helps..
Yeah theyr growin on me already,
I had to set up my a.c to accommodate their temperatures better! i went almost all summer without it, til NOW!!
i have a misting system for my veiled s, but i hand mist the geckos, im afraid to flood the terranium, i still dont know how much water it can...
cool, thanx for the tip syn, i stay up pretty late so i can keep an eye on them.
Im going to get working on a new setup so il be ready..
Im trying to get info on the pangea forums , but theyr forum is a bit dif to navigate, so im trying to get used to it..
Really :(!! So far they seem OK around each other, although there is one that is bigger than the other 2. I haven't seen any bulling as of yet, but then again its only been little under 2 days .. I have a couple cricket keepers that are not used for crickets so hopefully they get along and no...
So this is what my setup ended up as.. i know this is a chameleon forum but you cant deny how awesome these lil guys are..
they are too tiny to be able to tell the sex, hopefully i will get lucky and get 1male and 2 females, otherwise im going to have to set up another cage sooner than i...
