Jay,
Your girl definitely looks prego's...not sure how they can retain sperm for over a year though, are you sure she hasn't come in contact with any males since giving birth?
so what made them believe she was pregnant? She looks too young to have had a clutch already. She does have a bit of a droop but I would say that's not enough to convince me. Post pics again in another month or so.
Babies are officially 5 weeks old...unfortunately, we lost another one. Woke up to find a half eaten baby (ants) so wasn't sure if it passed overnight to get hit by the ants early in the AM or what. I do know that most, if not all of the babies looked fine the day before. All were awake...
I have a wild caught female Jackson, had her for a solid 6 months now. A little over a month ago she gave birth to 21 babies! She's since recovered and is doing just fine. Lots of misting and feedings is key.
That would be hilarious if they both gave birth again at the same time! Although I guess it's possible, if they gave birth the first time at the same time and their bodies aren't all that different. Actually, I'd prob laugh for maybe a minute or two, until I realized it will add on to the holes...
congrats! sorry about the 4...i lost 5 out of my 21 Jackson babies, but the sweet 16 is looking fairly strong at this point and it's been over a month! :)
check it out, i took these yesterday...she is looking a bit on the larger side again! she was pretty skinny after first giving birth a month ago! the third one is our other girl Kiwi, who I don't think is prego's (since it's not exactly possible)
She's pregnant for sure. Have you weighed her before and after mating her? She should show a steady increase in weight over time. Visibly, it won't be that obvious until about 4-5 months into the pregnancy. One way you can know for sure is if she consistently rejects male advances. Any happy and...
That's odd...what breed are they? And are you sure they're the same breed? At the least, they ought to have some kind of reaction to each other. If she doesn't mind his presence, then she's obviously up for mating, but I'm thinking he has to perceive her as some kind of threat to not be interested.
The babies are exactly 4 weeks old today! Still going 16 strong...haven't lost one in at least a week, possibly due to some adjustments I've made that I wanted to list:
-Less sun, more shade. We leave them in the sun until around 9 or 10am, them move them to the patio for the majority of the...
Welcome to the forums...and congrats on your soon to be chameleon fatherhood. Your anxieties are normal and natural. Give her some time to adjust to her habitat...at least a month, if not two. My girl Kiwi took a while to come around. At first, she was always stressed and scared. Within a couple...
Wow...dude, mines is looking the same way! I was just thinking that today when I was feeding her...thought I'd bring one of my males around just to see how she'd respond. Sure enough, she quickly rejected him. And she is starting to look a little plump, similiar to the way she looked when I...
Start misting immediately. PETCO sells cups of 100 pinhead crickets for about $7. Once they start eating, that should last you 2-3 days. Once they REALLY start eating that might not last you a day :p
Don't know much about fruit flies, but if you can get them, I hear they are great feeders...
