Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Male Veiled chameleon, been in my care since May. had a previous owner, no clue how old he is. maybe a year? his previous owners thought he was a she though. so he wasnt really in the best of care.
Handling - Never but this weekend i had to clean and rearrange...
yes they do! my cham is going through a shed right now and hes pretty moody and scared a lot. ususally when i open the cage he doesnt run but when hes about to shed he starts bookin it to the back. he doesnt eat as much either though he still eats. instead of his usual 6-8 he eats about 4.
im gonna assume the bigger enclousure is the newer one but id say thats a whole lot better! plenty of room to grow and lots of places to hide!!!!! i might add more plants in the back eventually but its a very good upgrade!
I have a about 6 month old male veiled and i keep his basking at abt 95F and the cooler parts are about 70. The heat bulb i use is 75watts and i have a 6.0 UVB bulb. UVB bulbs need to be replaced every 6months because even though they still have light they dont spit out UVB anymore. He has a...
I let my 4month old vieled hunt crickets in his cage and i recently bought him some mealworms as a treat but i dont think he recognizes it as food? he doesnt eat from a cup but hes eaten from my hand 3 times, so how should i go about giving one to him?
this thread is really just a celebration! i got my veiled cham, chameleo dicaprio, a week and a half ago and he ate from my hand for the first time this saturday! he ate two crickets from my hand and then sunday he ate another one! :) im really happy hes warming up to me and is starting to see...
yeah its good though! was worried about him laying. im so glad i got him from his previous owner because i dont think they really knew much about them. they had only one plant in there, and a water bowl at the bottom and told me they were female :\ im glad hes outta there now!
i got my 1st chameleon Friday. Shes a female Veiled chameleon. Her previous owners said they had no idea her age but i dont think shes very old. Id take her out to measure her but i dont want to stress her out, plus shes really young and not sociable yet.
if i had to guess id say shes about 6 to...
her ambient temperature about 75/76. i say about bc the thermometer i got came from her previous owner and i dont think its top notch. i moved it around and now her basking is a little lower
oh by the way, the fruits are because the second i misted her after i got her, she started drinking like she hasnt seen water in forever, so i put it in there to see if shed bite some to rehydrate.
So, i got a female veiled chameleon yesterday. her previous owner had very very little in her cage and her heat lamp didnt work. i had to make an emergency run to pet smart and buy a basking bulb. i ended up buying more plants too. theyre fake which isnt ideal, but im going to buy some real ones...
