This was such a great thread to go through, was hoping to see pictures of the little guys in their environ but patience is a virtue...so I shall wait. Great job on the terrarium.
Gamma!!
This is Gamma he is just some days shy of being 5 months old, hand fees, cup feeds, free ranges. Eats everything but seems to have something against silks...It's odd I had never gotten that before. Still he is amazing and will be even more beautiful.
Thanks Suzi!!!
Keep him warm, if you have an infrared bulb use it so he can sleep. If not try keeping him somewhere warm. Mist him to get him to drink. And whatever you do don't be impulsive, he will try till the last second...so you try and do the same. And vet as soon as they open.
At this point you are stressing out more than your cham. You are making adjustments that will make his organism function better. Remember to change that Calcium with D3 to twice a month and pure Calcium no D3 daily. The wattage of your bulb is not what matters in this situation, specially if you...
Amazing Ambilobes everyone...Here's Gamma 5 month old Ambilobe(sire:14k) from suzi. Truly an amazing cham lots of character and flare, currently going through a spurt.
I hope I knew more people close to the San Francisco Bay Area. Sacramento isn't that far but far enough hahahah hope you guys had fun in you meet. If only chams would be more social would be interesting....Still love them more than anything.
Sucks how some people are just a tad stubborn and the ones who pay are breathing living beautiful creatures like chameleons. Over supplementing takes a while to show its harmful effects. If you love your cham listen to the advice given. You and your cham will be much happier on the long run.
This girl has been nothing but strange, she has no male on sight and this is the second "prego" scare she has a laying bin and I do mist her quite often. I will take your advice and put it into action. I will also change her diet temporarily.
Is there a "cure" for gular edema? And is there...
Chameleon Info:
I have a 11 month old Female Panther chameleon, have had her with me for 8 months. She lives at a constant 60-70 temp with a basking spot of 80 and humidity levels ranging from 65 to 75. Full screen cage dressed with a few fake vines, real branches and a small umbrella plant to...
I have a 10 month old Female Panther chameleon, have had her with me for 7-8 months. She lives at a constant 70-80 temp with a basking spot of 90 and humidity levels ranging from 65 to 75. Full screen cage dressed with a few fake vines, real branches and a small umbrella plant to keep humidity...
So this will be a very odd update...she is back to eating and defecating. Still no tactile or visual signs of eggs in her, hasn't been trying to dig. She has been pacing quite a bit and still drinking quite a bit of water. What's going on? Still confused, was she just impacted? but didn't show...
Well I decided to rough it out for a few more days and ordered some silkies to boost her metabolism, She is back to fecal matters...no great quantities...ate a few silkies and mealworms, not enticed by crickets but her energy is back up. Seems to want to drink up a storm every chance she gets...
Well my biggest problem is that I have already spent money in getting her fecal exams, gavage, 2 vet visits for a "potential" impaction when it was a misdiagnosis and I am broke unfortunately, so I am trying to pull her through with little means. an xray is 250 USD, plus a revisit fee and...
As I said before, i did take her to the vet but they just want to do an xray to see if maybe she has eggs...seemed like the vet was very inexperienced.
She is starting to look really unhealthy, decided to eat a couple mealworms today...nothing else. Eyes are starting to sink in....I hate to feel this powerless any ideas on what to do?
She behaves normally...roams...basks and drinks tons of water...today she pooped and it was very watery maybe because of the amount of water she is drinking. But she is not lethargic, has a very strong grip and her eyes and casque look healthy. I just don't want it to get to the point where I am...
