I have had issues with newer compact bulbs. They can be used, you have to make sure that it is not too close to him. Make sure the fixture is atleast 1foot away from him. The intense light from compacts can hurt there eyes if they are too close, I found that out the hard way.

If your going to continue to sup this way I would check to see what they are actually putting on the feeders. You are looking for calcium that is phosphorus Free. If it has D3 in it thats fine. You will also need to sup with a vitamin dust 2-3 times a month.
Calcium dust should be on hand and feeders should be dusted before feedings. I never heard of a pet store dusting before buying them. Do they charge you extra for that??? By the time you get home and give your cham the feeders the dust may have fallen off. You also need to be dusting a...
