    3rd clutch of eggs coming?

I dust/supplement her food regularly, but I'll put a little more calcium on her food now. I checked her lights and they are good. What did you mean by "outdoor time"? Thanks!

    3rd clutch of eggs coming?

I have a female veiled chameleon that is about 1 year and 3 months old. She has laid eggs twice before already, 61 eggs and then 57. We tried feeding her less/less frequently the way this website: http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/2007/12/keeping-female-veiled.html suggested. I...

    Egg laying timing

My female veiled chameleon is gravid again, and I'm not sure if there is anything else I can prepare... Here is all her background info: I've had Iggy the Veiled Chameleon for almost one year now, and she was a juvenile when I got her. She has a huge cage (big enough for multiple people to...

Spending time on the bottom of the cage

I'm not a very experienced chameleon owner, but she might be receptive, looking for a mate, or gravid, looking for a laying bin. My female veiled was at the bottom of her cage a lot too the weeks leading up to her laying eggs. Once again, I may not be your best source, but I'd look into it. :)

Infertile eggs, 1st time, 61 eggs

Thank you, I did understand most of it, except what you meant by "overseeing can lead to..." in the beginning...... Also, how long of a break do they get between clutches? And if she laid the eggs one month ago, is it to late to start the diet?

Infertile eggs, 1st time, 61 eggs

Did you breed the one that laid 72 eggs and next time was egg bound? Or are chams that lay a lot of eggs more prone to being egg bound if they are bred or not? BTW-Thanks for the blog link Jann!:)

Infertile eggs, 1st time, 61 eggs

Hi everybody, My female veiled chameleon laid her first clutch of eggs right before I left for vacation (so about a month ago... just came back now). My parents cared for her during this time and said it only took her a few hours all together to dig, lay, and bury the eggs. After successfully...

    Urgent!!!

I am leaving for a trip this afternoon and my female veiled chameleon is in her sand box. She was receptive a few weeks ago and recently had orange and robin's egg blue spots but wasn't too large in the tummy. She had been crawling around on the ground in the past day or two. She was eating fine...

    Worms for diversity

Since I can't really go out and buy those worms/flies at a store, is there a certain distributer/website or something that has really good quality? And out of butterworms, Phoenix worms, silk worms and Blue Bottle flies which ones are the easiest to breed and maintain a small population of? I...

    Worms for diversity

I am looking for some more diversity for my female veiled. I mostly feed her crickets and some bugs from outside. She gets meal and wax worms as treats. The pet stores in my area don't offer a whole lot, so is there a particular type of worm that is worth ordering and breeding (and is easy to...

    Simply weird......

Iggy's enclosure is way taller than 4 ft (about 7ft tall, corner cage, at least 4 ft wide), so the whole lighting thing is ok. I think I have everything figured out with gutloading and such. Thanks for the help!:D:):D

    Simply weird......

Sorry it took so long, I had trouble attaching the pic: I'll add D3 to her supplement schedule. What types of veggies can I give the crickets? Thanks for the tips on worms... should I take out the worms a bit before feeding and give them some greens? And what type? The bulb in the...

    Simply weird......

Do you think she is receptive and looking for a mate? She came out the lower door, crawled all over me, climbed up (on the outside of the cage:eek:), I stopped her/ushered her into the upper door. THREE TIMES IN A ROW!!! She has never shown interest in coming out let alone being handled! I...

    Simply weird......

This is going to be kind of long, but please stick with me until the end, and let me know what you think: My about 10 month old female veiled chameleon is being very peculiar. She has never laid a clutch before, though there was a scare a while ago when I thought she was but her coloration...
