Hey guys, I am new to the forums and just had some quick questions I wanted to run by you all. I recently got a 4-5 month old female panther chameleon (Chloe). I have had her for only a week, and I have been observing her behavior and noticed some things have changed since she moved in. She seems to be happy and content most of the time, but today I noticed she spent quite a bit of time on the floor of her cage. I know that chams are primarily tree dwelling reptiles, and I also understand they do go on the floor from time to time, but she looked like she was in search of something. At the time she went down, there were 2 crickets and a horned worm in the cage, none of which were on the floor (all were clinging to the screen on the sides of the cage). Im sure I dont have much to worry about for this, but I couldnt seem to find much else in terms of information on this. Thanks guys!
Also, she doesnt like me that much and hisses at me when I get too close to her, I am completely aware that this is normal for chameleons as they do not like to be handled, but what are your recommendations on removing her from the cage when it needs to be cleaned, without her becoming angry?
