My 2month old veiled is black! This is the first time that I have seen this since I got her over a week ago. She has been ashy lately and now I can see that some of her skin is peeling. Is shedding very stressful for them when they are babies?
I have not because our local pet shops do not sell anything but mealworms, superworms, and crickets. I could try the pet smart but it's like a 45 min drive away. Which I am going to a reptile show this weekend and will check there.
I'm feeding her what she will eat. trying twice per day. usually she will eat 4 and stop. she wont take the meal worms at all tho :( But she is active and healthy to me. I will continue to watch and update :D
Yay! That is great to know. Now if I could just get her eating the 10-20 crickets/day that have been suggested. I also bought the meal worms and so far she is ignoring them.
I am having the same problem with a 2 month old veil. I made a cricket feeder out of a sunny D bottle. My baby chameleon seems to be scared when I put it in her cage. She will eat when I put a cricket on the branch near her or when I hold 1 in her face. It's not hard to do just takes so much...
I have a drip cup and spray her 3-4 times per day. All her poop looks normal. But she is my first chameleon and when I noticed she looked so ashy I got worried.
My two month old veiled looks ashy. I'm wondering if that is the beginning of the shedding process? I spray her multiple times per day and I have a drip cup for her. All of her poop so far has been black/white. Once I did see some yellow with the white and black. Again any help is appreciated ;)
Ok great! I can get some fruit flies today. She had maybe 6 yesterday. All the crickets seem to get away from her before she can catch them. I tried using like a "solo" cup to let her eat out of but she just climbed on it then away. Is there some better way to use a feeder cup?
At what age can I feed my veiled something other than crickets? She is 2 months. I have had her for 5days. She eats crickets well approx. 5 per day. Any help will be greatly appreciated :)
Thanks for the reply! The first day she ate 4 small crickets, today 5. I tried putting them in a cup for her to eat out of but she wouldn't. Instead, I placed one by one on the branch in front of her and she started eating! (Very exciting :D) I got a 50 watt UVA bulb. I read that they needed the...
Hi everyone I'm new to this site and chameleon keeping. Though, I am not new to reptile keeping. I have always loved going to Repticon and other similar events. Today I bought my first chameleon. Female-veiled-2months old. I have a dome light, screen cage, lots of silk plants/vines. I have...
