what age for variety?

At what age can I feed my veiled something other than crickets? She is 2 months. I have had her for 5days. She eats crickets well approx. 5 per day. Any help will be greatly appreciated

you can feed her variety now but they just have to be small enough. you could try fruit flies or blue bottle flies, also little silkworms would be good. Alot of people feed meal worms too but silks are a much better choice. she should be eating about 15-20 crickets per day. Why only 5? is that all she eats or all you are feeding?

By all means! If they'll eat it, feed it! I have two young panthers and the eldest doesn't look at anything but crix...

no reason to wait - variety should start week one

bean beetles, flies, crickets, terrestrial isopods, small silkworms, a few small mealworms and baby superworms, soldier fly maggots, baby stick bugs, etc.

If it moves and it fits into her mouth she'll probably be happy to try it. Fruit flies are the most fun feeder at that age I think

Ok great! I can get some fruit flies today. She had maybe 6 yesterday. All the crickets seem to get away from her before she can catch them. I tried using like a "solo" cup to let her eat out of but she just climbed on it then away. Is there some better way to use a feeder cup?

There is a much better way and I will give you a link to it. This is how I do all my feeder cups and a lot of members do as well. It works very very well. I have never used fruit flies on it though. Here you go, hope this helps!
