I put ice cubes on the screen and it'll just drip. Hang some sphagnum moss on the leaves and branches, looks nice and holds humidity well. Put a dish to catch water drips and that'll hell too.
Actually, could she be shedding? I turned her around and saw skin peeling on her leg. She hasn't eaten in the past day, and she's been a bit darker? SO do you think she may be shedding
She is developing a faint blue splotch on her spine which I think may be the start of her coloration becoming gravid. What do you think? What do I do?? I'm worried
I'm not sure if there's already a thread on this, but I think a lot of people could learn some by looking at different pictures of everyone's chams and enclosures! So...lay it down!
She's like 6 inches. The source I purchased never said age. She isn't digging at the cage or anything but she is a dark green when I see her basking. But I'm not home most of the day, 8:30-4ish.
Charlotte has come up with a dark coloration and its not black, its just a dark green. Now she is aggressive, which goes without saying, but I feel like she gets too stressed when I mist and feed and whatnot. Also the humidity is very hard to keep at a constant 50%. It will drop as low as 30%...
Thank you :) that helps a lot :) Charlotte hates the color of my phone case.... I swear she cares more about my color choices than my girlfriend haha. I didn't think females were as sensitive to bright colors like males but I guess she is... Haha
Thanks so much! I'm going to try to start on calci-worms or silkworms because the super worms are a tad too large, and I'm not sworn on their nutritional value.
Maybe set up a climbing tree, like they use for birds, and you could use a branch to get him out and onto the tree, keeping minimal contact. Or maybe set up a feeding on the tree to keep him occupied, and not focused on the 'threat'. My mind is thinking more creatively than scientifically on...
She just had her first superworm, it took her a couple bites to get it down, but she caught and ate it nonetheless. Are superworms too large a prey item for a 6-7inch veiled chameleon? Due to their large size, I feed 3 super worms a day, which will soon switch to 4 every other day. Is this too...
Wow, that's awesome! Even though I just got my veiled, I sort of want a panther now too x_x. They are like potato chips
...can't just have one! I'm in the process of building her a screen cage.
This is her looking for more food just as she finished eating. She has quite the appetite. This is so exciting to have this chameleon, everything she does gets me excited, haha
Charlotte is a female or early sub-adult veiled chameleon, and that means before I know it, she'll be ready to lay infertile clutches. Now what are some signs I can look for to see if she's gravid? What can I do to prepare right now? Thanks :)
it's all alright. Not rejecting her for being who she is xD I'm just a little worried about egg laying, but that's a little ways away, I can prepare. My pet bird is female, and she lays too, so it'll be like a family tradition! XD haha
