I guess we can add "glitter eyeshadow" to the safe list...

Exactly. I don't wear makeup much, but I had it on that day and I think the blinking "spider" was irresistible

I guess we can add "glitter eyeshadow" to the safe list...

Oh the horror if he hit your eyeball! That just won't wash off... Although I am sure it is also fun to get the patented cham goo off the glasses :)

I guess we can add "glitter eyeshadow" to the safe list...

Besides the sudden shock of it, it gives you a new appreciation for the power that their tongues have.

So yesterday before having company over I noticed that Dino (veiled) had knocked his hygrometer off so I went in to reattach it. Normally when I am incoming I have food so he was watching me very carefully as always. However, this time I was just trying to be in and out quick. BUT I guess...

Chameleons and crawling up to you

So true! Dino will come towards me, and gape, hiss and rock and THEN climb up. He is eager to get to his outside sun cage but wants me to know he does not care for the mode of transportation.

    Help ID please!

We'll see how he looks when he grows! Still it is weird that he does not climb.

    My chameleon is blind

No it is me that is lucky. He is absolutely the sweetest thing in the world. He is that rare exception, a cham that loves to come out on my hand and hitch a ride to the sun cage. When he is eating, he obviously sometimes drops the bug or has to make a few tries and it is really a partnership. We...

    Help ID please!

Keeping for now. He is only about the length of a quarter (minus tail) and can't be more than a few days at most from hatching. I don't know how long he was without food/water and he is very vulnerable due to size so I hope I can get him to live and build him up. He is quite active today so I...

    Help ID please!

I just found a neonate lizard in my indoor gym (no action to outside doors). I swear it must be a gecko; it is pink, with leopard spotting, and a striped tail. Eyes are large and black and must be nocturnal. I am in Socal, we only have western fence lizards around here and the tiny babies...

    My chameleon is blind

I have a blind guy too. He is a rescue (little Dude from Multivitamins) and he has one unsighted eye. Bless his heart, he tries to shoot at bugs but has no binocular vision. When he sees me with food he just sticks the tongue out in the general direction, but always off to one side, and I have...

Week of moving home, temporary enclosure?

I vote for the temp cage. Because taking down the main one you'd have re-dial in all the parameters.

    Sudden deaths

Thank you so much for sharing. You would not have been able to discern the visceral gout. And bacterial infections are always possible. Either of which could have started at the breeder. Hopefully your mind is eased somewhat and you can know that you are an extremely responsible keeper.

    Husbandry review

Do you only use temp gun to measure? The Govee monitors are very accurate and can give alerts if outside your parameters. It should help keep track of conditions at night and then the fans may not be needed. as they can be blowing your fog out and drying things too much...

    Do plants “see”?

I think there must be something "like" vision operating for a couple of reasons. Plants always turn toward the sun. (although this could be heat receptors??) My sunflowers face in exact opposite directions in the morning and the evening. Also, vines make a beeline towards a tree or a wall. I...

What should I decorate the cage with?

Can you get her to cup feed? I prefer that because 1-no escapees in the cage 2 you directly monitor how much is eaten 3-You can control supplements better versus crickets that have time to preen them off in a feeder cup 4- It helps acclimate your cham to you and see you as a positive thing

    Carpet Chameleon Enclosure advice!

With my boehmii I used a smaller sized Sansi plant light beside his UVB, the Sansi put out enough heat to be about 10 degrees above the rest of the cage and he used it occasionally.
